Earlier this year, multinational engineering and electronics company Bosch launched its GSA18V-125 18V EC Brushless 285 mm stroke reciprocating saw, which combines an advanced handle design for greater comfort, an 18 V motor and orbital or nonorbital action to deliver superior cutting performance.

It provides next-generation corded-like power and optimised user comfort to reduce fatigue in rough cutting and demolition work.

The saw delivers 2 900 strokes a minute with a 285 mm stroke length. The versatile soft-grip handle and easy tool-less blade change system highlights enhanced comfort and ease of use. The tool features a compact 482 mm length for easy manoeuvrability.

The saw’s compact design is aided by an angled-motor placement, which allows greater access to hard-to-reach areas. With great balance and weight of only 3.5 kg (tool alone), the saw offers greater utility so users can saw overhead and in awkward positions for longer periods of time.

The saw is the first cordless reciprocating saw to feature three orbital-action settings (zero, one and two), which are optimised to maximise cutting.

Handy variable-speed controls include a dial to set the desired maximum speed and an accelerator trigger for adjusting the operating speed, such as starting a cut.

“Professional reciprocating saw users are always on the lookout for more power and faster results.

“The Bosch GSA18V-125 18 V EC Brushless 285 mm stroke reciprocating saw delivers that and more in a manageable compact size,” says Bosch Tool Corporation product manager Jim Stevens.

He adds that the three orbital-action settings allow optimisation of the saw to ensure maximum cutting power and speed whether the job is general rough cutting or demolition of wood or metal.

Bosch Reciprocating Saw Features

The reciprocating saw delivers more power, better efficiency and improved runtime over previous-generation 18 V motors.

Integrated counterbalance technology limits vibration for better handling, help- ing users cut through dense materials with ease.

The tool-less blade-change system with a robust lever allows for easier blade removal and installation, even with gloves on. A handy hanging hook keeps the tool within reach at all times.

In addition, the reciprocating saw includes a bright double light-emitting diode light for greater visibility in dark or tight work areas.

The saw also includes Bosch-exclusive electronic cell protection that protects the battery against overload, overheating and deep discharge for longer life.

Likewise, Bosch electronic motor protection protects the motor against overload with integrated temperature management.
