PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold miner Saracen Mineral Holdings has resumed ore processing at its Carosue Dam operations, in Western Australia, following a fatality at the site earlier this week.

The company on Wednesday said that underground development and openpit mining would follow "imminently".

Saracen is currently reviewing principal hazards and controls, and conducting workplace inspections and audits while also developing a return to work plan to ensure stoping activities at the operation could safely resume in the coming days.

In parallel, the company is also working with the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety on the investigation into the incident.

The miner has maintained its full year production guidance at Carosue Dam.
