Salungano’s share price rises as it reports higher earnings expectation

JSE-listed Salungano Group’s share price rose by more than 26% on June 24 after the company said it expects to report earnings per share (EPS) of between 50.64c and 51.14c for the financial year ended March 31.

That compares with the EPS of 2.54c reported for the prior financial year.

Further, Salungano’s headline earnings per share (HEPS) are expected to be between 50.59c and 51.11c for the financial year under review, compared with the HEPS of 2.62c reported for the prior financial year.

Salungano, which owns and operates coal mines in South Africa, as well as a coal trading business, plans to publish its full-year results on or about June 30.
