SA Hippo Submersible Slurry Pump Range Extends Warrantee Period
On the left is the original pump installed in 1986 at Lethabo Power Station and the one the right is the re-designed HIPPO Model 100L Pump
The HIPPO SUBMERSIBLE SLURRY PUMP RANGE is manufactured locally with a 98% local content – with only the bearings and the mechanical seals being imported and due to reliability of this pump range Hazleton Pumps has introduced an extended warrantee period on all new submersible slurry pumps.
The first HIPPO SUBMERSIBLE SLURRY PUMP that was manufactured in 1986 and supplied to Lethabo Power Station is still in operation today. On the left is the original pump installed in 1986 at Lethabo Power Station and the one the right is the re-designed HIPPO Model 100 L Pump.
All the pumps manufactured by Hazleton Pumps has a comprehensive data file for each individual pump – in which the operating conditions are recorded as well as the repair and maintenance costs over the life span of the pump. All the wearing components of pumps such as the impeller, volute, wearing plate and others are closely monitored so as predict the lifespan of each component.
This information is then used to assist in the improvement of the pumps. The upgrade program which Hazleton Pumps introduced to support the research and development of the HIPPO SUBMERSIBLE SLURRY PUMP RANGE. The continuous research and development on these pumps has assisted the HIPPO PUMP RANGE to be regarded as the world’s safest and most reliable submersible pump.
With the HIPPO SUBMERSIBLE SLURRY PUMPS being extensively used at all types mines as well as in all major industries, including a variety of applications, Hazleton Pumps can supply an accurate value of the total cost of ownership. With the total cost of ownership being available it was decided to introduce an extended warrantee period.
The cost of the extended warrantee period will vary and will be determined by the operating conditions, duty point, and the product being pumped as well as the location where the pump will operate. The main condition for the extended warrantee period will be that submersible slurry pump must operate at the designed duty point and that all controls from the electrical switchgear are connected and fully operational.
The extended warrantee period will be extended with 24 months and after the expiry of the extended warrantee period the client will have the option to extend the period even further.
The mechanical seals on the HIPPO SUBMERSIBLE SLURRY PUMPS are guaranteed by the seal manufacturer for a period of 12 months and Hazleton Pumps will replace the mechanical seals as part of the extended warrante as well as any other components that might affect the reliability of the pumps.
