PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Explorer Rumble Resources has moved to increase its landholding in the Fraser Range, completing a tenement application adjoining its existing Zanthus nickel and copper project, in Western Australia.

The new exploration licence application followed an earn-in agreement with ASX-listed Blackham Resources, signed in February this year, under which Rumble acquired a 75% interest in Zanthus.

The new exploration licence application would increase the Zanthus project to 957 km2, and expanded Rumble’s Fraser Range footprint by 74%, to 1 383 km2.

The new application, which was acquired for nil consideration, has had minimal base metal exploration, but an initial technical review has identified airborne magnetic and gravity prospects, Rumble said.

The junior believed that the Fraser Range had the potential to host a significant number of nickel deposits, as it was the seat of the discovery of the Nova-Bollinger nickel/copper project, by Sirius Resources.

Rumble said it would continue to strategically expand its footprint in the region, providing the company with multiple opportunities to make the next significant discovery.
