PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Africa-focused gold miner Resolute Mining produced 76 336 oz of gold in the three months to September, which was in line with the 77 450 oz produced in the June quarter.

Gold sales for the September quarter reached 89 326 oz, up significantly on the 68 103 oz sold in the June quarter, at an average realised gold price of $1 738/oz, compared with the spot price of $1 791/oz.

The miner said on Friday that production during the quarter was affected by wetter-than-expected weather at the Syama operation, in Mali, with rainfall disrupting openpit mining and processing performance.

Several projects were commissioned at the Syama sulphide operations during the quarter under review, including a transition to owner-operator of the underground development.

Production at the Mako operation, in Senegal, was in line with expectations as the planned cutback to expand and extend operations continued, with lower grades delivered to the plant during the September quarter.
