PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Junior explorer Red Mountain Mining will expand its focus to include the energy metals sector, including lithium and cobalt, as well as gold.

“The board of Red Mountain are excited at the opportunity that the burgeoning new energy metals sector represents,” said director Jeremy King on Wednesday.

“Together with building our gold portfolio, we intend to make this sector a focus as we look to build Red Mountain into a global, diversified mineral exploration and development company.”

King cautioned investors that the company had not yet entered into any agreements, adding that there was also no certainty that any agreements would be reached.

Red Mountain currently holds the Batangas gold project, in the Philippines, which includes mining production sharing agreements and exploration leases.
