A zero liquid discharge (ZLD) integrated provider is born, PROXA and PPTECH join forces
PROXA, provider of integrated water treatment solutions, announces the acquisition of a controlling stake in Process Plant Technology (Pty) Ltd (www.pptech.co.za), a specialist supplier of evaporator, crystalliser and related mass & heat transfer technology, equipment and plant.
According to Elie Sakhat, PROXA CEO, “the PROXA PPTECH partnership aims at optimizing for the benefit of our clients, the design, build, operation and maintenance of complete systems; enabling mines and industries to comply with environmental regulations and develop strategies for salt and air emission management including opportunities for beneficiation”.
PROXA and PPTECH are now in a unique position, to be one of only a handful of suppliers who can offer truly integrated, zero liquid discharge solutions to our Clients. “The joint capabilities of PROXA and PPTECH, significantly improves our ability to deliver low risk solutions to both large and complex projects in ZLD water treatment” adds Dave Rogans, PPTECH CEO, “supplemented with our extensive experience in gas cleaning and industrial crystallization.
PROXA and PPTECH have collaborated on various projects over the past 10 years and are currently executing a number of projects for the resources, energy and petrochemical sectors. The combined expertise of the two companies has been demonstrated in a number of countries in Africa, Australia, South America, the Middle East and Europe.
With effect from 1 October 2013, the acquisition was unconditionally authorized by the South African Competition Commission.
