ITWeb, in partnership with KnowBe4, is conducting the Cyber Security Survey.
Cyber threats are constantly evolving, and it’s essential to have a well thought-out, mature cyber security strategy firmly in place.
Maintaining organisational security against cyber threats was a unique challenge last year. Cyber criminals turned up their execution a notch and increases in the frequency of ransomware, phishing and cyber-attacks were experienced by businesses of nearly every size, vertical and locale.
ITWeb, in partnership with KnowBe4, is conducting a Cyber Security Survey to find out what is keeping you "up at night" when it comes to all aspects of cyber security – from prevention, to attack, to detection, to response.
Which of these possible attacks are you most concerned about? Through our survey, we intend to delve deeper into a number of cyber security concerns, including the types of attacks, security and compliance initiatives.
According to Anna Collard, MD of KnowBe4 Africa, the survey aims to understand the pain points of those responsible for cyber security in SA, as well as the issues they face and how this compares to other regions.
Another element that is covered by the survey is the tools and solutions that businesses are using to protect themselves. However, there is no silver bullet, and no business can afford to buy every new solution on the market.
With this in mind, Collard says cyber security costs can be best managed by determining the highest risk factors and making sure those are addressed first – and complying to local regulations on data protection, of course.
The survey delves into a number of cyber security concerns, including the types of attacks SA businesses are experiencing, governance and compliance initiatives, as well as what works, and, more importantly, what doesn’t.
For Collard, an effective cyber security strategy is key.
“The main benefits are a lowered risk and more confidence in having an effective security posture. In addition, knowing that IT is not alone and employees can provide a united front to assist in ensuring security is kept top of mind.”
By completing this quick questionnaire, respondents contribute towards a report about the current state of cyber security preparedness in SA, which will be published on ITWeb. They also stand a chance to win a set of Jabra Elite earphones.
