Anglo American Platinum (Amplats) has switched on its newly commissioned Bokamoso wastewater management plant, near the company’s Waterval smelter. The plant will process wastewater from nearby residential areas, including the Bokamoso housing project site, which is under construction. The switching on of the plant coincided with Amplats handing over 270 ha of land, worth about R26-million, to the Rustenburg local municipality and the Rustenburg Alchemy Development Trust. This was done to support sustainable land reform and transformation. Amplats CEO Chris Griffith is accompanied by North West Premier Job Mokgoro and other VIP delegates.
