Tenova TAKRAF Italy is supplying a pipe conveyor to PHB Weserhütte, S.A., for the Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company, Takreer, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The contract, awarded on a free-on-board basis, was signed in September 2013 for completion in March 2014.  Tenova TAKRAF will utilize its own proprietary technology in the engineering of the 640 mm diameter pipe conveyor, which was ordered as part of Takreer’s Carbon Black and Delayed Coker project.

The pipe will convey 2,380 t/h of calcined coke, has a total length of 1,050 m and will connect the conveyor from the stockyards to the shiploader. Pipe conveyors are very environmental friendly as the product is fully enclosed along the conveying route.

“Besides our proven track record in pipe conveyors and competitive pricing, we were well placed in bidding for the contract,” said Francesco Stagnaro, Sales Manager of Tenova TAKRAF Italy, “as Tenova TAKRAF India, with the technological support of Tenova TAKRAF Italy, is currently supplying the radial quadrant shiploader, which will be fed by the pipe conveyor for the same project.”  Tenova TAKRAF India was contracted by Samsung Engineering, the EPC contractor for the project.
