Dual-listed Perseus Mining has announced chairperson and nonexecutive director Sean Harvey will step down from these positions effective November 21 when the company hosts its yearly general meeting.

He will continue to support the company in a consulting role until March 31, 2024.

Harvey is the longest-serving director on the Perseus board, having joined as a nonexecutive director in 2009.

He served as chairperson of the group from April 2017, having been on the board when all three of Perseus’ operating mines were developed and brought into production – Edikan, in Ghana, and Sissingué and Yaouré, in Côte d’Ivoire.

His resignation forms part of an agreed succession plan to take Perseus to the next stage of its successful development. Perseus is still searching for a suitable successor as of October 30.

In the meantime, CEO Jeff Quartermaine will serve as acting executive chairperson until a successor has been appointed.
