PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold miner PanTerra Gold was on track to meet its production targets for the second quarter, as its Las Lagunas operation, in the Dominican Republic, went back to full production.

The ASX-listed miner said that Las Lagunas was expected to deliver gold and silver shipments of between $13-million and $14-million to refineries, during the second quarter of the financial year.

A stepped increase in production was also expected in the third quarter of this year, after an upgrade of the agitators in the Albion oxidation tanks during June. The new, larger agitators should significantly improve the efficiency of oxidation of the sulphide slurry, and improve gold and silver recovery in the carbon-in-leach circuit.

Revenue for the third quarter was expected to be between $18-million and $20-million, PanTerra said, followed by further increases in the fourth quarter, with continuing process optimisation.

The Las Lagunas mine only recently went back to full production after production was halved in November last year, as the operation experienced mechanical difficulties.
