Orlando West Boundary Wall declared the best of its kind.

Corobrik, South Africa’s leading brickmaker ran a competition to find the best residential boundary wall built from their face bricks. The competition ran in the Gauteng area and homeowners were invited to submit photographs of their boundary wall in 2019.
Musa Shangase, Corobrik Commercial Director said that 150 entries were received. “We are delighted with the calibre of entries, more than half the entries were of a very high standard. After a difficult decision-making process, Ms. Faith Vanqa of Orlando West, Soweto was declared the winner.”
“A team went through all entries and the top 20 entries were selected to be visited. The Corobrik team visited the sites to view the workmanship and the top five were selected for further visits before the decision was finalised.”
“It is wonderful to see that homeowners are very proud of their homes and see their boundary wall as an opportunity to display their individual personality.”
Ms Faith Vanqa selected a combination of Topaz Travertine and Golden Wheat Travertine to highlight the pattern and hollowed out elements. Single and double bull nose special bricks were used to give the rounded edging along the top of the wall – which further augments the quality of this wall.
To enhance the boundary wall Ms Vanqa paved the interior area with Corobrik Autumn and Nutmeg blend pavers.
When we spoke with Ms Vanqa she said she is a firm supporter of Corobrik because she knows she can rely on the quality of the bricks to build a long lasting boundary wall. No maintenance will be needed in the life of the wall.
The bricks and pavers used in this winning entry were purchased from Corobrik Crown Mines Centre.
