ASX- and JSE-listed Orion Minerals expects to complete the review of its board composition and to appoint new suitable candidates during the quarter to end December 31.

Orion initiated the review of the composition of its board in light of the increasing time demands and requirements on the board and its committees, as the development of its copper and zinc mines in the Northern Cape of South Africa progresses.

The company notes that the review has also taken into consideration director Tom Borman’s wish to free more time to focus on his other commitments and business interests. He has opted to not stand for re-election at the company's upcoming annual general meeting and has stepped down as director with effect from October 10.

Orion's assets include the Prieska copper/zinc mine and the Okiep copper project.
