Origin's revenue soars on higher oil price

PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Energy major Origin Energy has seen a 53% jump in its liquefied natural gas (LNG) revenues in the three months to March, compared with the previous corresponding period, driven by higher oil prices.

Origin reported production of 63.3 PJ of LNG from its 37.5% share in the Australia Pacific LNG project, up from 62.7 PJ produced in the previous corresponding period.

Sales volumes during the same period also increased from 61.2 PJ to 63.4 PJ, with revenues increasing from A$499.9-million to A$763.9-million.
