TORONTO (miningweekly.com) – Private project developer Ontario Graphite has appointed graphite marketing specialist Christopher Whiteley VP of sales and marketing, bringing nearly two decades of international business development experience to the management team, as the company readies to bring the next North American graphite project into production.

The company said Whiteley, who had helped place technical products in the industrial, aerospace, military, high-tech and battery markets, had worked in the graphite sector for more than 15 years.

"His international business development expertise will be instrumental in growing our sales channels and market share. We are thrilled to have him on board,” chief administrative officer and CFO Ellerton Castor said in a statement.

"Whiteley is a proven leader in the graphite industry and we are delighted to add his extensive sales and marketing experience to our team. His international perspective will help grow our business in key markets and drive brand awareness across North America and around the world," Ontario Graphite senior VP of sales and marketing Michael Coscia added.

Whiteley is a veteran of US Navy Submarine Service and holds a bachelor's degree in business administration in marketing from the University of Texas at Arlington and an MBA in international business from the University of Houston-Victoria, Texas.

Ontario Graphite, in May, cleared the final permitting hurdle to restart its flagship Kearney large-flake, high-carbon graphite mine in the province, paving the way for production to start in the fourth quarter.
