Onsite sampling accuracy highlighted
According to condition monitoring specialist WearCheck, the correct technique required to sample oil from a machine component is a specialised task that forms a critical part of the accurate scientific analysis of oil, as part of a condition monitoring programme.
Samples that are not taken correctly may lead to contamination and external material - even in miniscule amounts - could compromise the accuracy of the test results.
“It is for this reason that we decided to grow our onsite sampling team, equip the technicians with extra training for a wider scope of fluids, and allocate dedicated vehicles to them,” says WearCheck national sales manager Juliane de Beer.
De Beer says the company’s onsite sampling team consists of eight technically-certified, highly skilled and experienced professionals tasked with ensuring efficient, reliable, and expert onsite sampling services.
The team aims to ensure that every sample is obtained using the correct procedures and best practices, to guarantees accuracy, consistency, and integrity – critical for dependable analysis and results.
The onsite sampling technicians collect a variety of fluids from industrial equipment, including oil, fuel, coolant, transformer oil, brake fluid and AdBlue.
“The sampling technicians travel to clients located anywhere in South Africa as well as internationally, whether operating in demanding industrial environments or routine maintenance settings. The onsite service means that customers do not have to conduct the sampling process themselves, saving time while reducing the risk of contamination or human error,” affirms De Beer.
