Name and Location
Omitiomire oxide project, Namibia.

Client
International Base Metals.

Project Description
A prefeasibility study (PFS) completed on the Omitiomire oxide project has shown that a small oxide processing plant and mine can be economically viable.

The project mines three small pits to a maximum depth of 50 m.

The processing plant will have a throughput 40 000 t/m and will have a total mill feed of 3.1-million tonnes of ore containing 0.93 % copper on average.

Processing will consist of crushing, in-tank leaching, solvent extraction and electrowinning. It is envisaged that a far bigger processing plant will be built to mine the full sulphide and oxide resource at a later stage.

The small oxide processing plant will continue to operate in conjunction with the much larger sulphide processing plant to treat the remaining oxide ore.

Should this bigger plant not be built, the small oxide plant could process more ore beyond the 3.1-million tonnes envisaged in the PFS.

Value
Capital and prestrip funds required are estimated at $38.5-million.

Duration
Not stated.

Latest Developments
The next steps in the project will be to apply for a mining licence and secure sufficient funds to develop the project.
