When constructing industrial floors, walls, columns, slabs and so forth, flexible and easy-to-use vibrating systems are required, says industrial vibration equipment distributor OLI South Africa.

Kempton Park-based OLI’s high-frequency immersion vibrators, known as ‘pokers’, are the preferred equipment.

The company’s VHN range of electric high-frequency internal vibrators for concrete compaction is characterised by high centrifugal force, constant speed and high wear resistance, which makes it suitable for all types of concrete processing, even in continuous operation.

Its highly increased compacting capacity enables quick removal of air bubbles without any segregation of the elements composing the mass. The result is mechanically strong, durable and homogeneous concrete strength with no cracks or cavities, explains OLI.

The standard range of VHN electric high-frequency internal vibrators consist of a converter unit, vibrator head, 10 m of electric cable and a 5 m internally reinforced operating hose. The high centrifugal force is generated by a high-frequency electric motor integrated in the vibrator head. Vibrators are equipped with a keypad in polyamide, complete with a switch protected by a reinforced gasket that is resistant to continuous use and wear.

High-frequency electric vibrators are used on construction sites and in precast companies as flow aids in dry bulk decanters and to obtain high-quality products (exposed concrete), with excellent strength, good aesthetic results and weather resistance.

The vibration is transmitted to the concrete indirectly through the steel formworks or mould’s. The trapped air and excess water are released and the concrete settles firmly in place in the formwork. Improper consolidation of concrete can cause product defects, compromise the concrete strength and produce surface blemishes.
