Original-equipment manufacturer of remote-controlled demolition machines Brokk has introduced the new Brokk 900, which the company claims is the globe’s largest and most powerful demolition robot.

The Brokk 900 provides power on par with machines three times its size while offering lengthy uptime, even in situations with unreliable power sources, owing to the company’s SmartPower technology. This technology can provide optimised performance based on factors such as power supply quality and ambient temperature, thereby increasing output power and uptime.

Paired with the specialised BHB 1500 breaker, the Brokk 900 provides up to 3 050 J/Nm at 330 to 680 blows each minute, enabling it to manage some of the hardest rock applications.

Moreover, the unit is available with an electric powertrain for emission-free underground operation.

Brokk will highlight the new Brokk 900 along with other robotic mining solutions at this year’s MINExpo International, which is taking place from September 13 to 15 in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the US. The company’s exhibit will occupy booth #1155 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Centre.

The Brokk 900 is ideal for the most demanding applications. Its reinforced, heavy-duty design and engineering, and increased power and precise operation, make it a highly versatile option for mining operations.

The standard Brokk 900 comes with the option of two different hydraulic breakers.

The BHB 1500 is va 1 500 kg breaker for the hardest materials. Paired with the hydraulic power of the Brokk 900, this delivers a significant punch in each blow that is well-suited to breaking hard rock.

The BHB 1300 is a slightly lighter breaker for ensuring productivity in heavy concrete demolition. When not breaking tough granite rock, the higher blow frequency and more nimble size of this breaker can improve the production rate.

The Brokk 900 comes with the option of electric or diesel powertrain. The electric option allows for emission-free operation for underground and confined space applications. The diesel option is compliant with both the US standard EPA Tier 4 Final and the EU Stage V standard.
