JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Amid a reshuffle of its board, Sydney-listed Nkwe Platinum has appointed specialist chartered accountant Xin Li as CFO with immediate effect.

Li had over eight years’ experience in accounting and taxation and had previously advised several Chinese mining and resources companies in Australia, including the Shandong Provincial Bureau of Geology & Mineral Exploration, the Inner Mongolia Institute of Survey for Geological and Mineral Resources Exploration, the Gansu Non-Ferrous Metal Geology & Exploration Bureau and Shandong Gold.

He had also acted as accounting, tax and corporate adviser for China Youth Travel, the Heilongjiang Bei Da Huang Group and China Coal.

Nkwe further announced the immediate appointment of Norton Gold Fields CEO Dianmin Chen as nonexecutive director and the appointment of chartered accountant Keith Bowker as joint company secretary, following the resignation of executive director and company secretary Peter Landau.

Chen held a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from the Central South University of China and a PhD in Mining Geomechanics from the University of Wollongong, in Australia.

His former positions included COO of CITIC Pacific Mining Management, VP of operations at Minco Silver Corporation and executive director and CEO of CaNickel Mining.
