New technology reimagines floor coatings
Innovative technology has brought well-known floor coatings to market in new formats, with a wide variety of applications.
Plascon says that it has reimagined some of its most well-known products for a wide variety of applications.
The new Floortect 7 SB, formerly Plascon Gehopon Sealer 7 SB, is a fast-drying epoxy used as a system primer. It is formulated to seal off concrete to achieve a dust-free surface and currently comes in transparent green, with a clear sealer soon to be available.
The company says its glossy, non-skid Floortect 1000 SB, previously named Epoxy Floor Coating, is resistant to oils, grease and chemicals and is designed for floors that are frequently cleaned with detergents. The product is grey in colour but can be tinted and is suited for commercial and residential buildings, in both living spaces and garages, as well as warehouses and industrial units.
The high-gloss Floortect 2000 SB, formerly Plascothane Purecoat , is a moisture-cured urethane that is suited for counter tops and wooden floors, or in workshops, process plants and industrial units. The clear, tintable product does not require mixing and dries quickly, allowing for up to three coats to be applied in a day.
Floortect 4000 SF, previously known as Plascoguard 4000 HB, is an epoxy coating that is suited to areas of high foot traffic such as in factories and warehouses, food processing plants and process areas, hospital theatres and labs, cold rooms, and aircraft hangers. The light grey product is said to be resistant to a wide range of chemicals and can be applied in a single coat.
Plascon adds that its flooring range is designed to repel dirt and dust, ensures superior adhesion, is easy to apply, long-lasting, and extends the lifespan of a surface.
