National Urethane Industries was formed in 1982 and maintains a policy of confining its activities to the CASE [coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers] sector of urethane manufacture.

A motivated management team, who are totally committed to customer satisfaction and product excellence, runs the Company.

As NUI is a dynamic company, we employ industry professionals in their own right and most of our staff members have been with the company for more than 10 years.

The foregoing combination of experience and entrepreneurship allows the advanced technical skills of the company to be concentrated to the advantage of the urethane industry. Besides providing a range of comprehensive prepolymers, amines, isocyanates, polyol blends, polymers and axillary products, the company is in a position to analyse specific problem areas encountered by end-users and use the vast formulation parameters open to the experienced polyurethane technologists to custom formulate products to solve these problems. NUI has formulated some novel chemistries through the years by adopting this approach.

National Urethane Industries (Pty) Ltd has always been committed to product quality and customer service and is very proud of its first ISO 9002 Certification, which was obtained in 1998.

NUI was upgraded to SABS ISO 9001/2000 in 2003 & DQS ISO 9001/2000 in 2006. In January 2010 NUI was further upgraded to ISO 9001/2008 in an effort to maintain the highest degree of product and service excellence.

In 2014, NUI concluded a 25.1% BEE equity deal in preparation for the massive expansion seen today.

National Urethane Industries is a member of The Corrosion Institute of Southern Africa, The Waterproofing Association of Gauteng and The Polymeric Composites Institute of South Africa.

Our trademarks include Polyshield, Polybron, Ultraspray, Ultradome, Ultracast, Ultrafill, Ultracote and Ultraskin.
