MZI secures final land agreement for Keysbrook
PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Mineral sands developer MZI Resources has secured the remaining landowner agreement required to start development of its flagship Keysbrook project, in Western Australia.
The ASX-listed company reported that the agreements, which had been made with three landowners, gave MZI the right to access and mine minerals on the properties.
The finalization of the landowner agreement followed MZI’s earlier announcement that it had obtained approval to negotiate for port access at the Bunbury port.
MZI was planning to export all of Keysbrook’s 91 000 t/y of leucoxene and zircon concentrate through the port, which is located some 10 km from where the final products would be stockpiled following processing at a mineral separation plant.
CEO Trevor Matthews said on Friday that the company was now on the cusp of securing the financing required to construct the Keysbrook project.
“The project has a short construction period compared with most resource projects. With the key agreements either finalised or very close to completion, Keysbrook is now only about a year away from generating substantial cash flow for the company and its shareholders.”
