Multidisciplinary consulting firm Mott MacDonald states it has the services, skills and experience to deliver critical ser- vices to Africa’s mining industry in a way that adds value for clients, communities and governments.

Owing to this, the company is attending the 2014 Investing in African Mining Indaba, which mining director Andrew Barbut describes as “one of the most prestigious events of the year on the mining events calendar”.

This year will be the second time that the company attends the Mining Indaba, which will take place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from February 3 to 6.

“We will showcase our engineering consulting capabilities to broaden the mining industry’s understanding of our expertise. Mott MacDonald has more than 100 years’ experience in the environment and infrastructure sectors that are fundamental to mining,” states Barbut, adding that Mott MacDonald prides itself on applying innovation to reduce costs, improve safety and enhance sustainability.

Further, he says the company will monitor companies that present new projects, with bulk materials handling and water and power supply as some of their major challenges, at the indaba.

“Our main goal for the indaba is to advertise our capabilities to the African mining community and improve our network of connections for those companies and projects that are faced with infrastructure-related challenges,” he emphasises.
