PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Cairns-based Consolidated Tin Mines has declared commercial copper production at the Mt Garnet concentrator, in Queensland.

Consolidated Tin has a 9.85% free carry interest in Snow Peak Mining’s Surveyor project and manages the project, which includes the Mt Garnet concentrator.

Tin processing equipment would be introduced into the Mt Garnet concentrator to allow Consolidated Tin Mines to start production from its own Mt Garnet tin project. It was anticipated that about one-million tonnes a year of tin ore would be processed at the Mt Garnet concentrator, to produce about 5 000 t/y of tin concentrate.

“We are delighted with the milestone achieved to date and look forward to continued access and future profit for both Snow Peak and Consolidated Tin,” said Consolidated Tin MD John Banning.

He noted that Consolidated Tin was continuing to progress the definitive feasibility study for the Gillian deposit, at Mt Garnet, and to progress its memorandum of understanding with Snow Peak, regarding the ore treatment.
