Mine security hinders investment in mining
With South Africa ranked for the first time in the 10 least desirable of 84 global mining jurisdictions in the Fraser Institute’s Mining Companies Survey 2021, as measured by the Investment Attractiveness Index, it is clear that one of the hindering aspects is Mine Security that filters through on a global scale.
The mining sector plays a critical role towards the sustainability of the world economy, with this in mind; Pinpoint Stewards will be hosting a two-day online conference on 28 & 29 June to tackle Mine Security Globally. This seminar will ensure stakeholders engagement on the deteriorating security conditions around the mining sector and collaborate on solutions that are more urgent. An online exhibition will also form part of the conference to display security solutions and services offered. Our media partner in support of this conference is Mining Weekly.
The conference boasts international giants in industry with Edward Bickham, Senior Adviser, World Gold Council and Julian Kohle, Government Affairs Manager, International Platinum Group Metals Association, sharing their expert knowledge.
On a national scale, Brigadier (Ret) Nash Lutchman Executive, Vice President and Head of Group Protection Services, Sibanye – Stillwater, Thys de Beer, Group Security and Forensic Investigations Manager: SA Operations Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited, will shed light on implemented solutions in tackling security at their mines.
From the perspective of law enforcement, Brigadier HF Flynn Provincial Commander: Serious Organised Crime Investigations Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) North West, and Major General Alfred Khana Component Head: Serious Organised Crime Investigation Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, will address the current legislation and combative techniques.
Pinpoint Stewards owners have experience in training and conferencing for over 20 years and is 100% women owned and Level 2 B-BBEE company. Be part of this imperative dialogue! Contact us today to register, sponsor or exhibit: info@pinpointstewards.co.za
