A new range of metal isolator switches specifically designed for use in the commercial, mining and industrial sectors, is seen as a critical component of maintaining safety in harsh operating environments.

Available from 63 A to 630 A and in three or four poles, the IP65 dust- and water-tight-rated AMPCO metal enclosed isolator switch range is particularly suited for disconnecting or isolating motor circuits.

The metal isolator switches feature an orange powder-coated, rigid housing and cadmium-plated screws. The housing is manufactured from sand-cast aluminium, features top and bottom entry points and provides space for wiring. The switches also feature padlocking facilities which isolate the unit in the ‘off’ position, as an additional safety precaution.

AMPCO states that its metal product range complies with National Standards SANS/IEC 60309 P1 + 2 and that all its plugs and sockets undergo stringent inspections during production processes and are manufactured in accordance with the relevant ISO 9001 quality management certification.

In addition to its isolator switches, the company’s aluminium manufactured metal range consists of CEE-type metal plug and socket outlets, DIN and Swedish plugs and sockets and explosion-proof plugs and sockets.
