Project Description
A commitment has been made to develop the Maxwells deposit.
The project has mineral resources of 1.69-million tonnes at 5.67 g/t of gold for 307 000 oz of gold, which includes indicated resources of 891 000 t at 6.01 g/t of gold for 172 000 oz of gold, and inferred resources of 794 000 t at 5.28 g/t for 135 000 oz of gold.
Access to the Maxwells underground lodes will be through the Southern, Central and Northern portals.
Mechanised longhole open stoping is being adopted as the primary stoping method and, to minimise dilution, levels have been planned at 16 m intervals. Ore strike driving will be performed using a single boom jumbo to a nominal dimension of 2.5 m wide and 3 m high.
The project is expected to contribute about 15 000 oz towards total production in the 2017 financial year, and to
40 000 oz in the 2018 financial year.
