Name and Location
Mansa northern manganese project, Zambia.

Client
Kaboko Mining.

Project Description
The Mansa project licence area covers about 90 km2. A scoping study has been completed on the project and includes an indicative high-grade manganese resource estimate and mine plan for operations based on an initial seven-year mine plan.

The completion of the mine plan is critical to the operating programme and pit design and enables Kaboko to increase efficiency and productivity at the project. The scoping study focused on the known mineralisation area, which represents less than 2% of the total Mansa project area, emphasising the significant exploration potential of the project.

Latest Developments
Kaboko announced in November that it had raised $1.2-million to complete the maiden Joint Ore Reserves Committee resource definition and continued ramp-up of production at its high-grade Mansa manganese mine.

Meanwhile, the exploration drilling at the Mansa project has been completed and the samples are currently with the laboratory for assaying. Once results are available, the company’s independent contractor, Minxcon, will complete its report on the project, which includes establishing a maiden Joint Ore Reserves Committee-compliant resource statement. Visual results to date indicate significant intersections, which, upon confirmation of the latest results, will go a long way towards establishing a minimum ten-year mine plan.

Production at the Mansa mine is currently at about 5 000 t/m, with the company having stockpiled 10 000 t of ore and an additional 30 000 t of detrital overburden to be processed.

The mobile crushing plant has been delivered to site and construction of the stationary plant will start when geologists have cleared the development area. This area had to be moved, as it potentially would have limited the pit expansion.

Kaboko has also been working with the Zambian government to improve the logistics from mine site to port, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

It is expected that exports will continue during the wet season with the implementation of a new export strategy. The company will develop its siding, near Serenje, so that more service providers can be used.

Kaboko is also reviewing its local partnerships and the development and expansion there-off.
