Maiden resource for Celsius in Kyrgyz
PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Coal developer Celsius Coal has declared a maiden resource of 255-million tons at its Uzgen Basin project, in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The junior reported on Friday that the maiden inferred resource comprised 230-million tons at the Kargasha deposit and a further 25-million tons at the Kokkia deposit.
Clear potential also remained to further increase the resource inventory and to convert the inferred resource to the measured and indicated category.
“At 255-million tons, this very large maiden coal resource, with high yield and good coking characteristics, positions Celsius to become a significant coking coal producer,” said MD Grant Thomas.
“We also have great exploration potential and the funding in place to execute an aggressive work programme, which will happen during this Kyrgyz summer.”
The Kargasha resource is contained in 11 seams across the tenement, and was based on seven fully cored holes, while the Kokkia resource is contained in ten seams, and was based on extrapolation of 16 trenches developed between 1942 and 1954.
