All seasons’ singer and composer Mahlatze Vokal strikes a high note of self-composed Madiba song during 67 Blankets event.  Last Sunday at Nelson Mandela Park, Steyn City Gauteng, Mahlatze Vokal walks on the ground with warmth of Knits.

Mr. Vokal took a center ground and delivered a warm heart and wool rendition from his own Madiba song titled Freedom.  The song speaks about unity and it salutes Nelson Mandela, people’s hero and Father of the nation.  Mahlatze wrote the song just before Mandela’s death and wishes Madiba was still alive to hear the song. Mr. Vokal believes the song will continue serving and unite all race.

“This was my first time performing at 67 Blankets and before I took that Mic I was shaking as I look at Mrs Carolyn Steyn, I saw millions of blankets covering African children and then I found peace. “ explain Mahlatze Vokal 67 Blanket for Nelson Mandela Day and Lead S.A hosted the event ahead as a  “rehearsal“ in attempt to breaking Guinness World book record again, main event to be held 22 April in Paarl.

Mahlatze Vokal, a young boy from Limpopo, entertain knits during an all day event, which was also graced by Nelson Mandela foundation team.

Mahlatze Vokal appeals upon young peers to take part in 67 Blankets. First step is to start learning how to knit then create many warm heart blankets. Mahlatze takes off his hat and salutes Carolyn Steyn for such initiative that will keep the continent warm. It is not everyday such is done for the needy but Carolyn made it possible for Nelson Mandela.
On the other hand Carolyn Steyn applaud young Vokal for taking part in the 67 Blankets. “ Amazing song and performance” concludes Carolyn Steyn of 67 Blankets.

This week Mahlatze drops the Microphone in Johannesburg 67 Blankets head quarters and join knits in packing all blanket to be used at Paarl.
