Liviero Civils is starting 2014 on a high note, having achieved an entire year of operations without a Lost Time Injury.

During the course of the past year, the division - which is part of the multidisciplinary Liviero Group - achieved the safety milestone of 2 million LTI-free (Lost Time Injury-free) hours. It then went on to surpass this, with the accomplishment of a full year without an LTI, reports CEO Neil Cloete.

“For an operation of this size to have safely conducted its business without a Lost Time Injury to our 650 employees is an outstanding achievement, of which we are very proud,” adds Liviero Civils managing director Stuart Knight. “An exceptional safety feat like this is only possible through continuous reassessment of our performance, as well as pro-actively and aggressively targeting our high risk areas,” he states. Liviero’s DIFR (Disabling Injury Frequency Rate) has now dropped to zero.

“I would like to thank every person who has contributed to helping us achieve this. It is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to our safety acronym of ‘LIFE’ (Liviero Incident Free Environment),” Cloete concludes.
