Neometals has signed a two-year option with the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, in Western Australia, to sublease a 40 ha site in a new industrial estate for its proposed lithium hydroxide refinery.

Neometals plans to build and operate a lithium chemical plant with an initial capacity of 10 000 t/y lithium hydroxide production, with lithium feed concentrate coming from Neometals’ offtake option from the Mt Marion lithium project, in which it has a 13.8% stake.

Latest Developments
Neometals launched a front-end engineering design study (FEED) in May this year.

The report, which is being undertaken by M+W Group, is expected to deliver the report by the end of this year.

The project feasibility study will integrate the results of the FEED study in preparation for a request for a project investment decision in the first quarter of 2019.
