Project description
The project will involve the construction of a 330 000-ct/y diamond mine.
The Lerala project comprises five diamondiferous kimberlite pipes ranging up to 2,34 ha in surface area - all exposed at the surface.

The area has an estimated indicated diamond resource of 13,5-million tons at an average grade of 27,41 ct a hundred tons, to a depth of 110 m below the surface, based on a 1-mm-plus bottom cut-off screen.

The project has shown significant potential to further increase the total resource, both at Lerala and in the surrounding area.

The mining at Lerala will be contracted out.

€18,4-million.

Duration
Mining is expected to start in late 2007, with production expected early in 2008.
