A new event that will foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among technology professionals in Africa has been announced by the Technology Information Confederation Africa (TICONA).

The inaugural TICONA Conference will be held under that theme: “Unifying ICT Talents to Power the Continent to 2030 and Beyond”. The event takes place in Entebbe, Uganda, from 6 to 9 September 2023. It will bring together leading technology experts, innovators, entrepreneurs and thought leaders from across the African continent, and will provide a vital platform for the exchange of ideas, insights, and best practices to drive innovation, digital transformation and technological advancements across various sectors.

The conference programme features keynote presentations, panel discussions, workshops, and interactive sessions covering a wide range of topics related to technology and its impact on Africa. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from industry experts, engage in lively discussions, and network with peers from diverse backgrounds, including government representatives, industry leaders, academia, and nonprofit organisations.

"We are thrilled to launch the inaugural TICONA conference in Entebbe, Uganda," says David Gowu, the president of TICONA. "Africa is home to a wealth of untapped talent and potential in the technology sector. By bringing together industry professionals and thought leaders, we aim to catalyse meaningful collaborations, spark innovation and drive the adoption of transformative technologies that can shape the future of Africa."

The conference will also feature a technology showcase, providing a platform for startups, innovators, and technology companies to showcase their cutting-edge solutions, products and services. This exhibition will offer participants a firsthand experience of the latest advancements in areas such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, cybersecurity, fintech, e-commerce, health tech and more.

As the host city, Entebbe, offers a rich cultural heritage, a thriving tech ecosystem, and a supportive environment for entrepreneurship. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the city's attractions, engage with local startups and organisations, and experience the warm hospitality of Uganda, Gowu states.

With a focus on promoting sustainable development, TICONA seeks to harness the potential of technology to address the continent's unique challenges and unlock new opportunities for growth.

TICONA urges technology enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, policymakers, researchers and anyone passionate about the role of technology in Africa's development to participate in the inaugural TICONA Conference. Registration for this landmark event has opened and further details about the programme, speakers and sponsorship opportunities can be found on the AfricaPro Conferences website: https://africaproconference.com/

The TICONA Conference will be held alongside the second annual African Marketing Confederation (AMC) Conference, in Uganda. Both events are powered by AfricaPro, which works in partnership with professional bodies throughout Africa to organise their annual events, fostering collaboration and synergy among diverse role players. By connecting and aligning industry best practices, promoting collaboration among professional communities, and inspiring leadership, AfricaPro aims to create a more cohesive and effective professional landscape in Africa.
