Kutcho is a high-margin, low-capital project with significant upside potential.

The project comprises total measured and indicated resources of 17.26-million tonnes grading 2.61% copper equivalent, 1.85% copper, 2.72% zinc, 0.49 g/t gold and 33.9 g/t silver. Inferred resources are estimated at 10.71-million tonnes grading 1.67% copper equivalent, 1.18% copper, 1.76% zinc, 0.26 g/t gold and 21.5 g/t silver.

The proposed mine will operate for 12 years at 2 500 t/d for total life-of-mine payable production of 378-million pounds of copper and 473-million pounds of zinc. On average, the mine will produce 33-million pounds a year of copper and 42-million pounds a year of zinc.

The project has an after-tax net present value, at an 8% discount rate, of C$265-million and an internal rate of return of 27.6%, with a payback of 3.6 years.

Capital expenditure is estimated at C$220.7-million, including a 15% contingency.

Latest Developments
Kutcho Copper has begun work on a feasibility study.

CSA Global Consultants Canada will lead the feasibility study and will be supported by a team of resource, geotechnical, environmental, metallurgical, processing and mining consultants. 

The feasibility study should be completed in the second quarter of 2021.

Key Contracts, Suppliers and Consultants
CSA Global Consultants Canada (feasibility study, including mining, hydrology and site water balance work); Mineit (mining engineering, processing and recovery, reserve estimation and financial modelling); Allnorth (process plant and infrastructure design and engineering); and Piteau Associates (waste and tailings management engineering and design). Incorporated into the feasibility study team, but contracted directly to Kutcho Copper, will be SIM Geological (resource modelling and estimation), Terrane Geoscience (mining geotechnical engineering), and OnSite Engineering (main access road design and engineering).
