Komatsu and Pirtek extend high-pressure hose assembly supply agreement

Komatsu Australia and Pirtek Fluid Systems have extended their landmark 10-year agreement, signed in 2010, for the supply of genuine Komatsu hydraulic hose assemblies through Pirtek’s Australia and New Zealand wide network of service centres and mobile service units.
The new agreement covers 14 Pirtek service centres that have been set up to manufacture genuine Komatsu hose assemblies to the Komatsu Engineering Standard for both new machine builds as well as aftermarket hose sales, and includes plans to expand the service to New Zealand. Across Australia and New Zealand, Komatsu’s construction and mining equipment customers now have access to a network of more than 100 Pirtek service centres and 320 mobile service units across both countries – in addition to Komatsu Australia’s own service and support network. According to Stuart Moffitt, Komatsu Australia’s National OEM Products Manager the new agreement builds on the agreement signed between the two companies in May 2010, and strengthens the 10-year relationship established at the time. “This landmark agreement between Komatsu and Pirtek has proved to be highly successful, giving our customers throughout Australia access to genuine Komatsu hose assemblies, manufactured locally through the Pirtek service network in Australia and New Zealand,” he said.
“It has allowed us to provide our customers with higher levels of service and support, significantly shorter response times through Pirtek’s 24/7 mobile service network, and access to more competitive pricing for genuine Komatsu hose assemblies. “Komatsu hose assemblies are built by Pirtek in its 14 locations – using the same hoses, fittings and KES assembly procedures as used in Komatsu OEM factories – and carry full Komatsu warranties,” said Moffitt.
Each of these Pirtek service centres will be audited quarterly to ensure that the high KES standard is maintained. “In addition, under this new agreement, our customers in New Zealand are now also able to take advantages of the benefits of Pirtek’s broad network of service centres and mobile service units for the supply and replacement of their genuine Komatsu high-pressure hose assemblies,” he said. Over the next few years, Komatsu and Pirtek will also extend the hose assembly service to cover Komatsu’s US and European-manufactured mining equipment. “Expanding this agreement further cements the partnership between Komatsu and Pirtek, delivering significant benefits to our customers in terms of service and support levels, reduced downtime and lower operating costs,” Moffitt said.
Komatsu Australia is the Australian and New Zealand distributor for Komatsu construction and mining equipment.
