The project is located in the potentially gold-rich Migori Archaean greenstone belt, in Kenya.The project currently has a Joint Ore Reserve Committee-compliant resource of 1,65-million tons, grading at 2,44 g/t gold (Au) for 129 000 oz Au at a cutoff grade of 1 g/t Au for all categories; however, Goldplat is looking to increase this through further exploration.
The plan is to develop a small profitable gold mine, with an initial target of producing about 5 000 oz/y of gold within 12 months of being granted a mining licence.
