Kawanga exploration project, Zambia.
Project Description
The Kawanga project is an identified uranium deposit, previously drill-investigated over a strike length of some 1 000 m.
The deposit - one of three - forms part of a larger continued exploration of the prospecting licence area covering 5 500 km2 on the periphery of the Kabombo Dome, in north-western Zambia.
This includes the resource definition drilling and the start of prefeasibility studies.
Value
The International Finance Corporation (IFC), will invest up to $15-million in the equity of Kiwara to help the company explore and develop its mineral deposits.
Duration
Kiwara Resources is targeting 2015 as a possible target date for first production.
