JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Aim-listed Katoro Gold has started development work on the Imweru gold project, in Tanzania – two months ahead of schedule.

The Tanzania-focused gold exploration and development company had initially indicated that drilling would start in the third quarter of this year.

“Operational teams were deployed to site over the past week and the first drill rig is expected to arrive on June 1. With the site and drill pad preparation already complete, drilling will commence immediately once the rig arrives on site,” said Katoro executive chairperson Louis Coetzee.
