Project Description
The Kangaluwi project has a current mineral resource estimated at 46-million tonnes at 0.67% copper for 300 000 t contained copper from the Kangaluwi, Chisawa and Kalulu deposits at a 0.3% copper cutoff grade.

The project is targeting 7 500 t/y of copper cathode production from an openpit mine in the Lower Zambezi National Park.

The project promises to be the cleanest, greenest and safest copper mine ever built, applying the world’s best practices and technology.

Latest Developments
The Zambia Environmental Management Agency (Zema) has issued Zambezi Resources with a formal approval letter confirming the granting of the environmental-impact study for the Kangaluwi copper project in Zambia. This follows approval of the project from the Zambia Minister of Lands, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.

The construction and development of the mine is subject to strict conditions issued by Zema to ensure total compliance with the objectives of the Environment Management Act of 2011, which will be monitored and supervised by the agency.
