Great interest in extended portfolio of quality assurance solutions for the tire manufacturing industry

Considerable interest in the product portfolio of BST North America at the 22nd International Tire Exhibition and Conference 2016. The multifunctional line scan camera CCD CAM 100 and the profile measuring system CS 200, which convinced with high accuracy measurement created great interest at the booth. Moreover a web guiding system with WideArray sensors from AccuWeb showed web edge sensors with a large measuring range.

Greg Goss, Regional Sales Manager at BST North America was “more than happy with this year’s ITEC.” With live presentations in the booth, visitors could get detailed information about the products for quality assurance in the tire manufacturing industry. Great interest was drawn by known products such as the high-end line scan camera CCD CAM 100 and the profile measuring system CS 200. Furthermore the exhibited web guiding system with WideArray sensors attracted the visitors’ attention.

The multifunctional, extremely versatile line scan camera CCD CAM 100 covers large measuring widths and convinced the machine operators with its simple operation. This line scan camera requires neither expert knowledge, nor a laptop with special software for setting the measuring tasks, including the scanning criteria, via the intuitive user prompting system. As a result, it can be integrated in machines equally easily, and also replaced if necessary. "We've simplified this extremely powerful and flexible scanning technology to such an extent that it is very easy to handle, even for inexperienced machine operators," says Florian Kortekamp, Technical Sales Manager at the parent company BST eltromat International, summing up the unique features of this digital sensor.

The profile measuring system CS 200 is used for the high-precision measuring of extruded semi-finished products for tire production. It is primarily intended for use on extrusion systems for treads or side walls, directly after the extruder and after cooling.

The wide-array sensors are time-proven web edge sensors with a large measuring range. Like all other sensors from BST North America, the wide-array sensors calibrate themselves automatically after being connected to the company's controllers. These sensors – which automatically compensate for ambient influences, such as temperature fluctuations or dirt accumulation – are used where the web width fluctuates, or where it is necessery to change formats without moving and adjusting the sensors.

Experts from all over the world came to Akron for three days to see the latest technologies for tire manufacturing. After three prosperous days with many new business contacts, those responsible from BST North America and the parent company BST eltromat look back upon a successful exhibition.
