Project Description
The project involves the development of an iron-ore export facility, as part of a multiuser deep-water project. The iron-ore export terminal will be constructed as a standalone facility, but with provision for the staged development of multiuser operations by other selected operators.
The port site selected allows for the development of 22-m-deep open-water berth, capable of a handling ships of up to 250 000 dry-weight tons.

Sundance Resources has reported that its Cameroon operating subsidiary, Cam Iron SA, has been selected to develop the iron-ore export facility.
On Budget and on Time?
Recent marine surveys have allowed optimisation of the port design with total marine construction costs now estimated to be in the range of $160-million (excluding materials handling infrastructure and utilities). This is $50-million less than the cost estimate provided in the prefeasibility study.
