Company Announcement - A complete brick manufacturing and mining plant is available as a going concern as well as the supporting mining right and licence. There is also a second mining right and licence available.
This is offered in 2 separate Lots and written offers can be submitted to Vans Auctioneers head office in Pretoria from 17 to 24 November 2015 at 12:00.

This brick making business was owned by the same family for 3 generations where after it was sold in an empowerment deal that went sour.

The mining area is located within the Luipaardsvlei industrial area in Krugersdorp and is situated 1.5 km South of the R28, Roodepoort, Randfontein Road and approximately 4 km north of the R41 Johannesburg-Randfontein road with the Lancaster Dam to the East of the property.  Smallholdings in the surrounding area are predominantly utilised for quarries and mining and the property is also surrounded with prominent gold mines. The development of Krugersdorp has its roots in the mining industry and is considered the industrial hub of the Western Gauteng. It is a well-established city with a modern CBD offering all the necessary amenities to its growing population.

The first Lot that is available for offer, consists of a complete clay brick manufacturing plant including converted mining rights. The property is better known as the remainders of portions 140, 143 and 169 of the Farm Luipaardsvlei 246 and has a joint extent of approximately 95,36 hectares.

All of the existing rights are approved and these rights include the mining of clay and other minerals as well as the manufacturing of clay products. The property has a mine-able clay reserve of approximately 1,920,000m3 with a production capacity of approximately 96,000m3 per year. The brick factory has a production capacity of approximately 4,500,000 semi-face brick aesthetic bricks per month with a range of 7 types including the popular and unique dark blue colour and yellow colour.  The expected lifespan of the mine is approximately 20 years. The improvements are approximately 8 966m2 in extent and include several additional buildings with sales offices, carports, administration block, workshop, laboratory, factory and dry oven. Some of the loose assets that are included includes a generator, Bell loader, disintegrator, bin, mixer, high speed roller, search bin, extruder, Seveco cutter, several Bell forklifts, tipper, water car, Bobcat, VW Transporter, Corsa 1.4 utility, trailer, office furniture and equipment, skidsteer loader, front end loader, 4 tractors and other vehicles.

The second Lot on offer consists of converted mining rights on the remainder of the farm Syferfontein 293 Westonaria over 108,1716 hectares. The mine has an expected lifespan of 22 to 30 years. There is approximately 2,700,000m3 of white mine-able raw clay reserves and approximately 4,500,000m3 chocolate brown mine-able raw clay reserves.
