Johannesburg-based SAPICS, The Professional Body for Supply Chain Management, has achieved international recognition for its contribution to building supply chain excellence in corporations and individuals in Southern Africa.

SAPICS has been named a Premier Elite channel partner by APICS, the leading global provider of supply chain, logistics and operations management education and certification programmes. SAPICS joins an exclusive group of just five organisations around the world to achieve this honour, which is the highest bestowed by APICS.

“We are delighted to have received this recognition from APICS and the US-based Association for Supply Chain Management which it is part of,” comments SAPICS president Keabetswe Mpane. “It is the result of many years of hard work, commitment and dedication to growing supply chain skills, building the Southern African supply chain community’s body of knowledge and professionalising the supply chain profession.”

SAPICS certifications and education programmes are geared towards transforming the way that organisations do business, drive growth and reach global customers. “With our global network of partners like SAPICS, we are united in our commitment to global supply chain excellence, innovation and resilience,” explains Jim Lahey, ASCM Vice President, Global Channels and Alliances. “Together, we develop people, people improve supply chains, supply chains improve companies and the whole world economy benefits. As a valued APICS partner organisation, SAPICS’s exemplary performance has enabled supply chain professionals to advance their careers and companies to improve supply chain performance through workforce development. I am pleased to congratulate SAPICS on being upgraded to APICS’s highest tier in its channel partner programme, in recognition of an outstanding performance.”

“With the world facing the unprecedented challenge of Covid-19, we need skilled, qualified, professionally designated and ethically accountable supply chain professionals more than ever before. SAPICS is proud of the role that we are playing now and will continue to play beyond this crisis,” Mpane concludes.
