PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Metals developer IMX Resources has declared an inferred mineral resource of 31 000 t of contained nickel at its Zeppelin deposit, which forms part of the Ntaka Hill project, in Tanzania.

The Zeppelin deposit is in close proximity to the Ntaka Hill resource, where there is currently a measured and indicated resource of 12.8-million tons, grading 1.21% nickel and 0.25% copper, for 155 000 t of contained nickel and 32 000 t of contained copper.

The Ntaka Hill project also hosts an inferred resource of 45-million tons, grading 0.3% nickel and 0.07% copper, for 135 000 t of nickel and 32 000 t of copper.

IMX MD Neal Meadows said that defining a resource at the Zeppelin deposit was an important step in advancing the Ntaka Hill project.

“The mineral resources have the potential for lower cost openpit mining, and the similarity with nearby mineralisation that demonstrates encouraging metallurgical testwork results indicates that material from Zeppelin will also show good metallurgical performance,” he said.
