JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – JSE-listed Impala Platinum expected basic headline earnings a share and basic earnings a share for the six months ended December 31, 2012, to be between 120c and 138c – some 76% and 79% lower than that of the same period in 2011.

The expected decrease was a result of a slump in mine-to-market throughput, above-inflation cost increases and the impairment of long-term receivables of R603-million.

The company’s financial results for the period would be released on February 14.
