AngloGold Ashanti’s Iduapriem mine is an openpit gold mine located in the western region of Ghana. The company is conducting a feasibility study into expanding its gold treatment plant through the addition of a new crushing plant and another mill. The upgrade will increase the mine’s processing capacity to 4,3-million tons a year from its current 3,8-million tons a year. The expansion is also likely to result in a 10% to 15% decline in costs at Iduapriem.
